Israel faced off against the Dominican Republic in the 2023 World Baseball Classic. In the first inning, Dominican Republic’s Eloy Jimenez ripped an RBI single to left field, plating Juan Soto for the early lead. In the third inning, Manny Machado sent a moonshot to left-center field followed by an RBI double by Ketel Marte to give the Dominican Republic a 3-0 lead. In the sixth inning, D.R. would go on to score four more runs to increase the lead to 7-0.
