Coaching arguably has the biggest impact on whether NFL teams win or lose and plays a major role in determining the landscape of the league. The Favorites: John Harbaugh opened the season as the +600 favorite to win the award, but after a blowout Week 2 loss to the Rams and starting quarterback Jaxson Dart suffering a season-ending injury, Harbaugh’s odds have fallen to +1300. The new favorite for Coach of the Year is Klint Kubiak. Over three weeks, he’s led the Raiders to a perfect 3-0 record, including a huge upset win over the Chargers. Over the last decade, 60% of Coach of the Year winners have been in their first season with their team. Could Kubiak keep that trend going? Minnesota’s Kevin O’Connell is second on the board, as he and his Vikings are also off to a 3-0 start. Minnesota’s wins so far include victories over the Packers, Bears and the Buccaneers. Past Winners: In 2025, Mike Vrabel won the award in his first season as the Patriots head coach, transforming the Pats from a 4-13 record in 2024 to a 13-4 record in 2025, an AFC East title and a Super Bowl appearance.
